Washington State Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler is expected to sign an emergency order in the coming days that would allow medical professionals to bill insurers for reaching out to their patients proactively with information on the COVID-19 vaccine.

Governor Jay Inslee said the initiative will work because people simply trust their personal doctor more. He added that he believes a lot of Washington's citizens have been exposed to 'deception and falsehoods' when it comes to vaccine information.

"I will also be issuing an order through our healthcare authority that will implement the same incentive for providers in the Medicaid and the public employee and school employees program as well," continued Inslee.

The governor also stated that the latest variants we are seeing globally are like 'COVID on steroids' and that those that are still unvaccinated are a danger to themselves and others.
