
Expanded Child Care Options And Resources Become Available Saturday
The Fair Start for Kids Act, a state law that aims to make child care more accessible and affordable, goes into effect Saturday, October 1st.
Governor Jay Inslee said the program will be administered under the Department of Children, Youth and Families.
"More families are now eligible for the Working Connections Child Care program." stated Inslee, "This will mean lower copayments for many families who lack access to affordable childcare."
The legislation will expand existing child care facilities and build new ones while also growing recruitment and retention for child care businesses by increasing subsidies. The program increases access to several support services as well.
