Federal Fugitive Arrested in Rural Area Near Quincy

A federal fugitive is in custody after U.S. Marshall's were assisted by Grant County Deputies and the County's Narcotics Team Tuesday.

Deputies located 31-year-old Daniel Villa Gomez in a travel trailer off a rural road near Quincy (2671 Road R Northwest)

Gomez took off on foot, but Grant County K9 Hawk and handler Corporal De La Rosa quickly found him hiding under the porch of a home on the property.

Deputies say Hawk's bark led to Gomez' quick surrender,

He was wanted on a federal warrant for violating his probation and now faces more charges for attempting to evade capture.

He was arrested by U.S. Marshals, with the assistance of the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Grant County Interagency Narcotics Team.
