Douglas County Fire District 5 crews, along with BLM and other firefighters from around the region responded to a brush fire on Road 20 NW just north of McNeil Canyon Road.

Chief Tyler Caille says the blaze started Sunday afternoon.

"The fire was reported as an out of control burn by resident located near the location. DCFD5 personnel responded and found an approximate 5-acre, wind-driven brush fire burning around the residence and up over a ridge to the north."

It grew to 20 acres in size before it was contained on Monday.

BLM brought helicopters in addition to fire personnel and apparatus.

There were no injuries or loss of structures.
