The National Forest Service will be hosting an open house for the Twisp Restoration Project Thursday night from 5-7 at the Methow Valley Community Center. The open house is an effort to educate folks on the restoration actions proposed for the 77,038 acre project.

"We're going to start off with an introduction to the project, we're going to cover the project needs from a variety of resources..we're going to be talking about some of the tools we'll be using and we're going to be covering the process and timeline," said Eireann Pederson, Project Team Leader.

The main goals of the project are targeting forest health restoration, wildfire risk reduction, watershed function improvements and protection of wildlife habitats. A public comment period for the project is currently open until December 12th.
