Washington gas prices drifted lower slightly in the past week statewide, similar to the national trend.

Patrick DeHaan of gasbuddy.com said oil inventories did post a small increase last week, whereas gasoline inventories saw a more notable increase of 9.1 million barrels.

"It looks like, for at least the moment, many Americans are parking their vehicles. Gasoline demand is fairly anemic for this time of year." DeHaan explained, "That's not necessarily a surprise, but it's even below what we would expect normally. That will bring more headwinds to gasoline markets over the next few weeks."

The trade news last week with China and USMCA seemed to have little effect on oil prices. Forces like economic numbers and geopolitical developments are likely to have more of an effect on the market going forward.
