There is both good news and bad news in the battle against COVID-19 according to the Chelan-Douglas Health District.

First, the good. According to the most recent numbers, updated Wednesday morning, the incidence rate of new infections is just a little more than 250 per 100,000 people over the past two weeks.

That number is about half where the two-county area was just a couple weeks ago.

In bad news, the most recent masking survey shows that the usage of face coverings is also dropping with just 64% usage in Chelan County, though Douglas County is still strong at 92%.

The Health District observed 2,821 people entering stores in both counties to gather those numbers.
