Gov. Inslee Says State Will Pay $550 One-Time Benefit for Those Losing PUA
Washington Governor Jay Inslee announced Sunday that the state will offer $550 per unemployment applicant after the Federal Government did not renew Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, PUA, benefits.
This emergency payment will be issued by the Employment Security Department to all PUA claimants who were in active status the week ending November 21st.
In a statement, the Governor said, "For some people in our state who have been receiving PUA benefits, this will prevent an immediate loss of assistance at a time when they are most in need."
Inslee blamed the President for not signing the COVID relief package that was passed in Congress.
