Governor Jay Inslee released further guidance Wednesday for weddings and funerals. Both types of gatherings are only allowed in Phase 2 or better under the state's Safe Start plan.

According to the proclamation, receptions and ceremonies must be capped at 30 people, or 25% of the venue's occupancy, whichever is less. Facial coverings are required at all times, and the new rules do not discriminate between indoor and outdoor gatherings.

One hour wedding ceremony rehearsals are allowed. All other related gatherings, such as engagement and bachelor parties, showers, and rehearsal dinners are prohibited. Wedding receptions can be no more than three hours, and alcohol service must end at 10:00 pm. Standing to mingle, as well as all dancing (except the couple's first dance and parent dances), is also prohibited.

At least one COVID-19 Supervisor from each vendor and the venue is required to be onsite throughout the wedding service or funeral. All vendors working at the service are required to develop a comprehensive COVID-19 exposure control, mitigation, and recovery plan.

All guests must self-screen for signs of symptoms of COVID-19 before arriving at the location of the event.
