Governor Inslee Issues Statewide Stay Home Order
Governor Jay Inslee addressed residents of Washington state Monday night, announcing a statewide "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" order.
The order bans all gatherings for anything but essential business, and requires all Washingtonians to stay home unless they are pursuing an essential activity. All non-essential businesses must close.
Washingtonians can still go out to buy groceries, visit the doctor, or go to work if they perform an essential work duty. People can go outside while abiding by the proclamation, but they must remain at least six feet away from each other. That means activities like taking a walk, riding a bike, or gardening are still on the table.
Essential businesses, like doctor's offices and grocery stores, will still remain open. Inslee's proclamation does NOT further restrict restaurants from offering take out or delivery service.
The order will begin Wednesday and will last for at least two weeks.
