Governor Jay Inslee has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to Inslee's office, he tested positive on a rapid antigen test Wednesday. He reportedly is experience very mild symptoms and has a slight cough.

Inslee is now working from home and is receiving Paxlovid antiviral treatments.

The 71-year-old governor added that he is "most glad" to be vaccinated and boosted, having received his last shot in March of this year.

Washington's Lieutenant Governor Denny Heck also announced Wednesday that he has tested positive for COVID-19. He says he's working from home and experiencing mild but unpleasant symptoms similar to a bad head cold.

Heck is also vaccinated and double-boosted and has begun a regimen of Paxlovid just as Inslee has.

Heck previously tested positive for COVID-19 in February but experience no symptoms at that time.

Inslee and Heck's cases are said to be unrelated as the two have not been in proximity to one another in recent days.
