Governor Inslee Responds to Passing of I-976
Governor Jay Inslee has directed the Washington State Department of Transportation to postpone any projects that are not already underway after the passing of Initiative 976, limiting car tab fees throughout the state.
In a written statement, he said, "It is clear that the majority of voters objected to current car tab levels," saying it will have adverse impacts on the state's transportation system.
Gov. Inslee also asked other state agencies, such as the State Patrol and Department of Licensing, to defer non-essential spending as they review the impacts.
