Despite no in-person graduation ceremonies for Wenatchee and Eastmont High Schools this year, the traditional fireworks will still be set off.

Wenatchee School District Communications Manager Diana Haglund says the sky should be lit up beginning around 10:00 p.m.

"We will time the lighting of those fireworks and so that will happen at the end of the Wenatchee graduation which follows Eastmont's. It will be a combination of Wenatchee and Eastmont colors and just really celebrating all of our graduates."

The exact location of the fireworks display site close to the vest to prevent crowds gathering, but she did say it will be visible from Wenatchee and East Wenatchee.

Haglund says it's just part of the ways they're trying to make graduation special for an anything but ordinary year including a drive-thru celebration this week.

"Have a photo by Parsons with them in their cap and gown so they're really getting to commemorate that through the photographic experience. They're getting to see the staff and say hi and get those congratulatory messages. Then they also get a yard sign."

Haglund says they've worked with Eastmont through the entire process for the ceremonies which take place Friday, June 5th.
