Inslee Expands Masking Order to Include Large Outdoor Events
Governor Jay Inslee is expanding his statewide masking order to now include outdoor events where more than 500 people are in attendance.
Inslee, citing evidence of outdoor spread within the state, says the requirement is very similar to measures recently adopted in King and Pierce County. Anyone five years of age and older will be required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status while attending a large outdoor event.
"The Watershed Festival at the (Gorge Amphitheater in George) led to more than 200 infections from that one event, and it was outdoors," stated Inslee
The order is effective Monday meaning those attending large outdoor events this weekend, such as the Chelan County Fair, are not required by the state to mask up.
