Governor Jay Inslee is responding to the Russian invasion of Ukraine by ordering all of Washington's state agencies to do an inventory to identify any connections to Russian entities with an eye towards terminating them.

Inslee called the attack an "outrageous foreign invasion" and a "vicious, malicious act of violence."

"Russia has abused not only the dignity of the people in the Ukraine, but the ability of the international community to feel that democracy is going to remain a permanent value system of civilization as we know it," Inslee stated.

The Governor's Office has no plans to give relief to any businesses that lose money because of the move away from Russian interests.

Inslee said the move may create an inconvenience for some, but the defense of democracy is worth it.

"It is much better to have early, strong economic sanctions than it is to have delayed warfare." Inslee continued, "We need to stop Vladimir Putin starting today."

Inslee added that he's so passionate about the events in Ukraine because America's democracy is also allegedly under attack.
