Inslee to Visit Okanogan County as Chuweah Fire Burns

Governor Jay Inslee will visit Nespelem in Okanogan County Wednesday as the region battles the Chuweah Creek Fire.

According to the Governor's Office, Inslee will meet with leaders from communities impacted by recent wildfires, including Colville Tribe leadership, local business owners and community members.

The Chuweah Creek fire near Nespelem has burned more than 35,000 acres. Firefighters are still working to contain the blaze that started July 12 and has destroyed seven homes and seven outbuildings to date.
