Kittitas County Sheriff’s Deputy Arrest Mail Theft Suspect

Kittitas County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 31-year-old Ellensburg woman for stealing mail after a rash of incidents in recent weeks.

On the department's Facebook page recently, they put out a request for help in identifying the potential perpetrator.

Law enforcement was alerted on Wednesday to a pickup truck on Game Farm Road that was seen opening mailboxes.

Deputies were able to arrest Kara Lewis who was found with multiple stolen items in her vehicle.

It is possible that there are other individuals stealing from mailboxes, so the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office is asking residents to be on the lookout and notify them of any concerns.
