The Legislative Lunchbox, coordinated by Washington Policy Center, is an informative one hour opportunity for those in the Wenatchee Valley to connect live with legislators at the capitol. The event is on February 26, but tickets are available now.

"The purpose of the Legislative Lunchbox event is to give people the opportunity to come to the Town Toyota Center and talk face to face, or screen to screen in this case, with their legislators at the capitol building in Olympia during the legislative session," said Chris Cargill, Eastern Washington director for Washington Policy Center.

The event is from 12-1 with boxed lunch included at the Town Toyota Center in the Crunch Pak Room.

"It's very, very difficult for folks in the Wenatchee Valley to get to Olympia. Sometimes the pass is closed, sometimes it takes a long time and a lot of money to get to Olympia," said Cargill. "What we've tried to do with these Legislative Lunchbox forums is to bring folks to one central point in the area and connect via video conference to legislators at the capitol."

The forum alleviates the obstacle of physical distance between legislators and Wenatchee Valley residents. During the one hour event, folks can ask questions or just observe what's happening at their state capitol during the legislative session.
