Man Wanted in Montana Arrested in Loop Trail Area of East Wenatchee

A man is in jail after being arrested by East Wenatchee Police in a heavily wooded area between the Apple Capital Loop Trail and the Columbia River.

Officers say they discovered the man, who has a no bail Felony Warrant from Montana while conducting a patrol of the trail Saturday night.

The man is wanted for unserved prison time in Montana, and was arrested without resistance.

His belongings are being held by East Wenatchee Police for safe keeping.

Officers say they've increased nighttime patrols of the loop trail and have found people trespassing in hours the trail is closed, and have also put out a number of fires.

They say the area has had a lot of foot traffic at night when it is closed.
