Miss East Cascades Pageant Open to North Central Washington Women

The Miss East Cascades Scholarship organization is hosting a pageant March 19 and women between the ages of 18-26 are invited to participate. Candidate applications are due back to the organization by March 6.

A $3,500 scholarship is up for grabs for the winner and a $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to the runner-up. Several monetary scholarships are available for the women that place in one of the award categories, such as the 'personal achievement award' and 'people's choice award'.

"It's an opportunity for young girls to take a position on social issues, hone their skills in terms of interviewing and public appearance," said Steve Lacy, director. "There's a whole lot of aspects to this that will benefit young ladies."

Miss East Cascades is associated with the Miss Washington and Miss America program, so the Miss East Cascades for 2022 will move forward to the Miss Washington competition.

Miss. East Cascades events have been paused during the pandemic and this upcoming pageant will be the first one since 2019.
