Skiers and snow boarders will have fewer options in North Central Washington after this weekend.

Mission Ridge has announced it'll be closing down for the season after a full day of skiing on Sunday.

The resort has been closed all week, but will reopen for its final two days on Saturday.

It’s also finishing the year with a contest offering season passes for the next ski season, which starts in November.

Mission Ridge spokesperson Tony Hickok told KPQ that operations normally continue into the spring as long as there is a demand for lift tickets.

The resort experienced some difficulty this past November,

It opened for Thanksgiving weekend, but then quickly closed down because of light snowfall and unseasonably warm weather.

It's social media posts featured photo images of snow making machines before the resort reopened for the full season in early December.
