New Eviction Prevention Program Intends to Resolve Tenant & Landlord Disputes

The new Eviction Resolution Pilot Program is available statewide to assist landlords and tenants in reaching rent payment related agreements. The program is just in time with the impending expiration for the state eviction moratorium set for October 31.

"There have been some tenants who have been struggling to pay rent during this period of time and of course, landlords are struggling because they haven't been paid," said Jennifer Talbot, Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center executive director. "This program is designed to mitigate that."

The program connects tenants behind on rent with a dispute center, like the Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution, to work with their landlord prior to going court. The program includes rental assistance, legal aid and mediation.
