The Okanogan County Sheriff's Office is working on a new plan to get a suspect out of a residence after a seven hour standoff Tuesday night failed.

Deputies along with SWAT team help were not able to serve search and arrest warrants to 48-year-old Jason Kortlever of Loomis because of a lack of access to his home.

KPQ news partner i FIBER ONE reports a rockslide on the road to Kortlever’s residence prevented access of large vehicles and resources to properly force him out of the home.

Kortlever’s accused of being a felon who illegally has guns.

Deputies heard a gunshot when they initially approached his home, although it’s not known if the gun was aimed at them.

The East Cascade SWAT Team, which is composed of officers from Chelan and Douglas counties, assisted with Tuesday night's effort to force Kortlever out into the open, but ended up to returning home unsuccessfully.

It's not known when deputies will attempt to move in on him again.
