Regional Port Considering Four Proposals for PUD’s 5th Street Property

The Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority is considering four proposals for the large Chelan PUD property on 5th Street and Wenatchee Avenue in Wenatchee.

The port is selling the property on behalf of the PUD.

Capital Projects Manager Stacie de Mestre said there will be an evaluation committee meeting Thursday to go over the proposals.

"We're assuming that there will be questions and clarifications that we will need to ask the developers," de Mestre said, "The committee will meet up again in June and come up with a recommendation."

The recommendation will then be taken to the PUD's Board of Commissioners July 5th.

All four proposals included a new YMCA building and apartments, while three included office space, two proposed hotels, and one included an educational building while another proposal included a digital film productions studio.
