Red Rock Elementary in Royal City is celebrating the completion of its modernization project with a ribbon cutting ceremony on January 24. Our news partner, iFiberone, reports that January 24 is three years to the date that students returned to the elementary after flooding, caused by a burst water pipe, resulted in significant damage. Royal School District had received flood insurance funds as well as state matching funds to cover the $16 million modernization project. This resulted in the district not having to seek a construction bond. The ceremony will be at 6:30 and the community is invited to attend.
