RiverCom 911 is currently hiring to fill several telecommunicator positions. The dispatch center is currently down seven people and is looking for candidates to apply.

"The perfect candidate for RiverCom is someone who can multitask very well," said Misty Viebrock, executive director. "Being able to have a 'split ear' is what we call it."

The job requires telecommunicators to answer 911 calls, business lines while also managing the radio that police units, fire and EMS uses.

"It's not a skill we can train, you either have it or you don't, and it's not something we can really test for," said Viebrock.

The first steps to apply is taking a public safety test and that will be held this Saturday, October 24. For more information on the job and how to apply, visit RiverCom's website.
