Starting this Saturday, face coverings will be required in all indoor spaces, or outdoors when social-distancing can't be done.

And, according to State Health Secretary Dr. John Wiesman, the mandate is based on a similar venture in Yakima County.

"Their local health district is reporting that 95% of people are wearing face coverings in public and now they have seen a sharp decline in their new cases. This is really, really great news for them and for the state."

The mask directive will included places like elevators and shared spaces in apartment complexes, nursing homes, etc.

Gov. Jay Inslee also announced new restrictions when it comes to public places and events.

Receptions have been prohibited at weddings and funerals. Ceremonies are permitted by occupancy is limited to 20% or 30 people, whichever is less.

Indoor dining can happen with people from the same household, otherwise people are asked to eat outside. No indoor service at bars, breweries, or wineries regardless of food being served.

Indoor entertainment options like bowling alleys, card rooms, arcades, etc. cannot open until phase 4.
