The Swakane Canyon Fire is contained according to Chelan County Fire District 1 Chief Brian Brett.

He says they got a lot of help from DNR, the Forest Service among other agencies, some of whom are still on scene.

"It looks good. There's seven DNR engines and two hand crews with two engines from Chelan County 1 still on scene as of this morning. It's all being wrapped up and no more evacuation notices."

The fire was burning in grass and brush and, as of this morning, considered to be about 250 acres in size.

The blaze started around 5:00 p.m. Sunday about a quarter mile up Swakane Canyon Road.

The cause is unknown but under investigation.
