An unnamed area man is in custody after attempting to shoot someone on Boodry Street Wednesday evening.

According to the Chelan County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to reports of gunshots near the 200 block of Boodry Street in Wenatchee. When they arrived, witnesses explained that a man pointed and fired a gun at another individual. The bullet missed the victim and he was able to run to safety.

Investigators from the sheriff's office as well as the Wenatchee Police Department were then able to identify the suspect through witness statements. The Chelan County Regional SWAT Team was activated and arrested the suspect at his residence.

Chelan County detectives then exercised a search warrant for the suspect's residence and car, finding a pistol and three magazines that matched the caliber used at the crime scene.

The suspect was booked into the Chelan County Regional Jail on Assault 1st degree.
