It can be intimidating trying to master the ever evolving world of technology and the Wenatchee Rotary Club has invited a tech savvy, information technology professional, Pat Lamphere, to host his presentation Internet Security Essential: Simple steps you can take to protect your family and business from hackers, viruses and other cyber threats. . The informational meeting will be next Thursday, October 17 at noon.

"Speaking to lay people, non-tech people, about the security of their online profile, how to keep your computer systems safe from virus, how to keep your kids safe from online predators and online dangers," said Pete Van Well, Wenatchee Rotary representative.

The meeting is free, however can be paired with a buffet lunch with a purchase of $15. It will take place at the Red Lion Inn.

"We all have our devices now, we all have access to the internet, there's a lot of threats out there, there's a lot of content that isn't suitable if you have children and there's a lot of fraud. I think it's really important for them to learn, I think it will help the community as a whole, how to protect themselves from this kind of thing," said Van Well.
