Three Rivers Hospital in Brewster is warning residents that they should expect a longer wait on COVID test results.

The hospital is advising anyone who may be traveling to please plan ahead as results may not be received until 48 to 72 hours later, which could create a problem with travel requirements.

The high volume of testing is said to be the chief cause, although Three Rivers also blames the recent winter storms, supply shortages, and shipping as factors for the slower turn-around time.

The hospital advises testing about 2-3 days after developing symptoms or five days following an exposure.

Three Rivers Hospital offers non-urgent COVID testing from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
