Three Rivers Hospital Commissioner Resigns After Nearly 9 Years

Brewster's Three Rivers Hospital Board of Commissioners accepted the resignation of a nearly nine year serving commissioner, Vicki Orford. Orford has served the board since 2011 and was elected both board chair and vice chair during her time.

"When she first came on, it was partly because she saw some business related things she thought could be addressed and improved," said Jennifer Best, business development coordinator. "Ever since then her mind and her eyes have really been on maintaining fiscal responsibility, being good stewards of public resources and helping the hospital grow."

Under her leadership, the hospital addressed the Mansfield clinic, pay off warrants with Okanogan County and introduced the board to elements that improved education about the inner workings of the hospital.

"She has been such a strong advocate for our hospital and we're sad to see her go but we really wish her well on the next leg of her journey in life," said Best.

Orford's resignation is effective December 31. Starting January 1st, the hospital will have 90 days to fill the vacancy.  Three Rivers will then be seeking letters of interest from residents in the hospital district who would like to serve on the Board of Commissioners. Each commissioner position is at large, there are no district lines.
