The Grant County Sheriff's Office will be bringing back its community town halls, with the first meeting in the Larson Community February 1st.

Sheriff's Tom Jones said they will cover topics like Washington's police reform laws, COVID issues, and there will also be an opportunity for questions.

"Ever since I got elected back in 2011 I've hosted several town hall meetings a year throughout the county." Explained Jones, "With COVID interrupting 2020 and 2021, we figured let's try to get these meetings back in order so we can start hearing from our community again."

There have been at least eight confirmed shootings in the Larson Community just outside of Moses Lake since May of 2020.

Next month's meeting will be held in the Sheriff's Office Substation on Lowry Street at 5:30 pm. A second community meeting will be held in George in March.

Jones added he and staff are looking into an online option, such as Facebook Live or a video conference.
