Firefighting efforts continue to be very productive on the Twentyfive Mile Fire burning southwest of Chelan.

Fire officials said day and night shifts have the entire fire surrounded and air resources have been able to make quick water drops with Lake Chelan so close. Roughly 570 personnel are on the fire.

Crews have been focusing on structure protection along South Lakeshore Road to the north and east of the blaze. Efforts include 'plumbing' such as hoses, pumps and sprinklers. As more fire crews arrive, the western edge of the fire will get more attention.

After the fire actually created its own weather system that produced thunder and some precipitation Monday, more dry weather is expected for the next few days.

The fire about 8% contained at 10,826 acres as of last update Tuesday evening.

The cause is under investigation.
