Washington is among a number of states, including California, Oregon and New York that is working together to develop a QR code that can be used as a vaccine verification system.

State officials say they are working as fast a possible to get the code written, tested and soft launched.

In the meantime, Washington's Deputy Secretary of COVID-19 Response Lacy Fehrenbach says there are multiple ways for businesses and individuals to verify vaccination.

"Those include your CDC card, a photo of your card, your digital certificate from MyIR, electronic health records or other documentation from your healthcare provider," explained Fehrenbach.

Developers are looking for the QR code system to be something that's easy and accessible for Washingtonians.

Fehrenbach added that they expect to have more information on the system very soon.
