Wenatchee police arrested a domestic violence suspect last week, days after the individual had been the subject of a standoff.

Police originally responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of South Hills Drive around 9:45 pm Sunday, August 19th. Upon arrival, the male subject refused to follow commands from law enforcement to exit the residence.

An hours-long standoff ensued that included police shutting down nearby roads and attempting to contact the suspect with phone calls and a PA. However, police eventually left the area to avoid an unnecessary escalation.

Captain Brian Chance said, "Being that the officers were able to ensure that all the other involved parties were safe, they departed the location to attempt to contact and take into custody the subject on probable cause."

The move appears to have paid off.

"Thursday, August 13th, Wenatchee Police officers working the day shift were able to make contact with the male subject at his residence." Chance explained, "That individual was taken into custody without incident and booked on the outstanding charges."

The unidentified suspect was booked into the Chelan County Jail on Domestic Violence - Assault 4th degree.
