Crews from Chelan County Fire District 1 and Douglas County Fire District 2 responded to a structure fire in the 1000 block of Harvard Avenue in Wenatchee Monday night just before 8:30.

Public Information Officer Kay McKellar said the fire consumed a storage shed, part of a tree, and a chicken coup, killing 4 chickens.

"The possibility is it was a heat lamp that had a short in it that could have ignited the coup on fire, which then spread to the shed," said McKellar.

There were no injuries apart from the deceased chickens. The Chelan PUD also responded because of some exposed power lines. Crews cleared the scene just over an hour later.
