The Wenatchee Police Department announced Wednesday that their DUI arrest numbers for January of 2021 were similar to January 2020, when bars, restaurants, and other places where people drink were fully open.

Officer Mark Ward asked the community via Instagram to make a late New Year's resolution to buckle up, slow down, drive distraction free and most importantly drive sober.

"Most of you already do this, so please challenge your family, friends and co-workers to share your commitment to drive safely and responsibly. Unlike other resolutions, let's keep this resolution going all year long." said Ward, "Thank you for making the right choice to keep us all safe."

Last year, Wenatchee Police made 22 DUI arrests in the first 25 days of 2020. This year, officers have already made 18 DUI arrests over that same period.
