The Wenatchee School District will again have two School Resource Officers (SRO) patrolling its halls next year after the Wenatchee City Council unanimously agreed to a deal Thursday night.

Chief Steve Crown told the council the agreement is substantially the same from last year, but there is added language regarding training and the recent law enforcement legislation.

The school district will pay half of each officer's salary and benefits, about $151,335 total. While the city will pay for costs such as certifications, uniforms and vehicles, it will split the cost of SRO training with the district.

Officer Jared Reinfeld will remain in his SRO role. Last year's SRO Jared Shepard moved back to Nebraska and will be replaced by Officer Corey Fuller.
