The Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center are transitioning its 18th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Multicultural Fest into a month long virtual celebration.

Typically, the in person celebration falls on the Saturday before Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

"It is a celebration of the different cultures of the people who live in our community," said Ashley Sinner, public relations coordinator. "We invite the community to share their culture and to educate us."

The museum has worked with the groups that typically have booths at the fest to release videos via social media and a handful of forums will also be offered. The city of Wenatchee and the museum have prepared a video to be released Saturday to present Civil Rights & Social Justice Awards.

"It's a lot about educating and it's a lot about learning and just celebrating our diversity," said Sinner.
