Chelan County Public Works is reminding residents in the Malaga area that construction begins next week on the West Malaga Intersections Project.

PIO Jill FitzSimmons said the project will center around McEldowney and Golf Course roads and will take about 35 working days.

"We're looking into improving the turning radius onto West Malaga Road." FitzSimmons explained, "That's just to alleviate some of these conflicts that come with the large commercial agricultural trucks that are in that area."

The affected roads in the area will be reduced to one lane, flagger-controlled traffic.

The overall project will cost $650,000, the majority of which is being paid for with a federal grant.
