4th Dist. Rep. Dan Newhouse Says to Not Expect Federal Lifting of Marijuana Ban
The U.S. House passed a bill this month decriminalizing marijuana.
4th District Representative Dan Newhouse says he doesn't it expect to get through the Senate however.
"It really wasn't a serious attempt to make progress on the issue. There are some things that I would like to see changed as it relates to federal law and the controlled substance of marijuana, but I couldn't support this. It's not going to become law anyway."
He says despite Washington legalizing marijuana, the bill he was asked to vote went too far.
