An accident between a semi and a gray pickup truck resulted in a diesel spill that blocked SR 97 for over an hour Thursday morning.

Around 10 a.m., both the pickup and the semi were headed southbound SR 97 when the pickup tried passing the semi as it turned left near Beebe Bridge.

While the semi was turning left, the pickup hit their fuel tank and caused a 30-gallon diesel spill.

Washington State Trooper Collin Cumaravel says hazmat crews and tow trucks should have the highway cleared by noon.
