Body Found Near Highway 2, Death Now Called ‘Suspicious’

The Chelan County Sheriff's Office have begun a suspicious death investigation after a passing motorist discovered a dead body Tuesday evening on Highway 2, about 11 miles west of Cole's Corner.

Sheriff Brian Burnett says that although they believe it's a case of foul play, there is no evidence citizens should be concerned for their safety after the isolated incident.

"This is not a cold case this is an active death investigation." explained Burnett, "Our detectives are going to be dedicated to this case so we can get the information that we need."

It is believed the victim was placed at the location sometime in the early morning of September 7th.
