The Chelan-Douglas Health District says more than 80% of vaccines that they have received have been distributed to those who are in the first wave.

Vaccine Branch Coordinator Janey van den Broek says the state controls the volume of vaccines that are available to different areas which is making it hard to plan.

"We hope to be able to expand to Phase 1B-1 group within the next week or two. Our ask for the community is that if you are a healthcare worker or a first responder in a public facing situation and you haven't been vaccinated and you want to, please reach out."

The Health District has a new email, COVID.Vaccine@cdhd.wa.gov, for any COVID-19 or vaccine related questions.

Van den Broek says they do have a little bit of flexibility at a local level on who qualifies for which phase.

"We do hope to bump our teachers up in the phases, so to speak. Everybody wants to be vaccinated and wants to be at the front of the line, which is great. We love the fact that so many people are wanting to be vaccinated. We want to make sure it's done in an equitable way."

She also noted that they are hoping to get more vaccinations soon so they can open more opportunities to get people vaccinated that want it.
