The number of people in Chelan County with at least one COVID-19 shot is now more than 60 percent.

The level achieved this week is a high mark among the four counties of Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Okanogan.

But it’s also well below the goal of 70 percent set by the Chelan Douglas Health District.

Still, Chelan is one of only six counties statewide to reach 60 percent

Several counties on the state’s west side are well over the 70 percent mark, and 59.8 percent of people in Washington overall now have at least one COVID-19 shot, according to the Department of Health.

In the four-county area, 60.2 percent of people Chelan County has a least one dose, followed by Okanogan with 54,3 percent, Douglas with 53.4 percent and Grant at 45.4 percent.

Among adults 16 and older, 73 percent of Chelan County has at least one COVID-19 shot, a level surpassed by only a handful of westside counties.

The U.S. overall reached a target of 70 percent of adults 16 and older about a month ago.
