The Chelan County Sheriff's Office performed three rescues over the weekend, with all requiring helicopter support.

Chief Jason Reinfeld says on Friday, they had to hoist someone from Inspiration Lake area, and as they were completing that, they got a call from north of Stehekin near Lake Ann. The third call came Sunday.

"A 42-year-old man from Missoula, MT was reported to have a broken leg in the Colchuk Lake area. This is a remote enough area that we are not able to practically get litter crews in there in a timely fashion. We requested a hoist-capable helicopter."

Whidbey Island Naval Air Station responded to take that individual to Leavenworth Fish Hatchery where they could be transported to the hospital.

Reinfeld says it is getting to be their busy season with rescues.
