
Confederated Tribes of Colville is Recipient of $5 Million for Housing
The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation received $5 million in funds to use toward affordable housing. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded funds to 52 tribes and Tribally designated housing entities out of almost 200 applicants nationwide.
"The Confederated Tribes of the Colville are well known as one of the more innovative and effective providers of housing among tribal housing authorities, " said Lee Jones, HUD regional public affairs officer. "They have an established capacity and ability to make good use of the housing funds we were able to provide."
HUD awarded almost $39 million in Indian Housing Block grant funds in Alaska, Oregon and Washington. The funding is expected to produce affordable housing.
