Personnel from Chelan County Fire District 1 and Doulgas County 2 responded to a brush fire on Carlson Loop in Wenatchee Tuesday afternoon.

Chelan County 1 Battalion Chief Cary Neu said when they arrived, the fire was about 15 feet from the back of a home.

"It had about a half acre burning on the little hillside behind the home. Once we got resources here, we were able to start getting some lines around it, got a couple brush trucks up at the top up there, and got it contained," detailed Neu.

The cause is thought to be a controlled burn that got away. The fire grew to a little over an acre before it was contained.

By 4:30 pm Tuesday the fire was in the mop-up phase.
