Columbia Valley Community Health is hosting the first Chill Out event on January 11 at Lincoln Park. 'Chill Out' is an effort to get kids outdoors, taking in the fresh air and staying active despite the winter chill.

Sleds will be distributed to children present at the event and if there are leftover sleds at the end, adults can snag one as well.

"The whole purpose of the event is to put a sled in kids' hands so that they can stay active this winter," said Katherine Bohm, communications specialist. "As a fellow parent, it can be hard to get the kiddos off the couch and off their devices. But if they have a sled, our hope is that they'll go out and have fun using it."

Though no registration is required, it's suggested to click 'Going' on the Facebook event so CVCH can gauge how many folks are attending and make sled accommodations.
